A test of Arabic speaking and Islamic knowledge Skills
We received another awesome and remarkable performances from our young scholars
during the 2024 Reigning Champions Competition which was held on Sunday, 25th
August, 2024.
The online event unfolded with more than 100 participants with the Director of the great
citadel of learning, Mrs Monsurah Popoola, the Learning Manager and her team,
parents, teachers, the contestants, pupils and viewers in attendance.
The competition was a test of the young intellectuals’ Arabic Speaking skills, General
Islamic and Qur’an Knowledge. A total number of 24 brilliant contestants and 12 classes
participated in the spectacular competition with two contestants representing each
class; a Lead Contestant and a Supporting Lead Contestant. The participating classes
were chosen from the advanced level, intermediate and lower levels respectively. The
advanced level classes are; Executor and Platinum classes. The intermediate level
classes are; Pearls, Emerald, Star and Ruby while the lower level classes are Gems,
Sapphire, Opal, Fluorite, Topaz and Onyx.
Like cheerleaders, the classmates of the contestants filled the blossom air of the
competition with nice comments of encouragements through the chat room as the
contestants took turns to show their competitive skills. We were truly wowed by our
scholars’ breathtaking and stupendous performances as most of them swiftly answer 30
questions in less than 10minutes.
While we had Executor and Gems classes as winners from the advanced and lower
levels respectively, Star and Emerald classes had a tie. This again tingled the adrenal
glands of the pupils and teachers as they flooded the chat room with lots of morale-
boosting comments.
In the end, Star class became the Reigning Champion for the intermediate level classes
and the contestants rejoiced. All the pupils truly had a fun and amazing time throughout
the competition because the contestants indeed made their classes proud.
Congratulations to the Reigning Champions; Executor, Star and Gems, credits to the
teachers and a big kudos to the contestants for the success recorded for their
respective classes.
